Diverse Boards Make Better Decisions. So Why Are So Many So White?

This past fall, a new study announced that 84 percent of board members and 90 percent of board chairs were white. And at least a quarter of boards were all white. That’s a pretty appalling figure. But making things worse, the same study, conducted more than 20 years ago by BoardSource, an organization that seeks to improve nonprofit governance, found nearly identical results.
